What can I bring over?

Choose one file or several on Android, then check what arrived on your Mac.

Choose what comes home

Bring over photos, videos, music, downloads, documents, and other files you choose on Android. Pick where they should land on your Mac, and Chicklee brings over your selection.

Pick several files at once

Android opens its own file picker, where you can choose one file or select several when your phone supports it. Chicklee receives access only to the files you choose.

Want files from a particular folder? Open that location in Android's picker and select the files you want to bring over. Chicklee currently copies selected files rather than a whole folder in one step.

If the picker looks different

Android's file picker can look a little different from one phone to another. Your phone decides where it opens and which locations it shows; Chicklee works with the files you choose there.

Choose more than one file

Press and hold a file in Android's picker, then tap the other files you want. The exact gesture may vary slightly by phone.

Your originals stay on your phone

Chicklee copies the files you choose and leaves the Android originals in place. It does not scan or back up your whole phone, browse private app data, or remove files for you.

Connect your Android phone

Chicklee usually finds your Mac automatically, with Manual Mode ready when you need another way to connect.

Start with Auto Mode

Open Chicklee on your Android phone and Mac. When both devices are on the same local connection, Chicklee should find your Mac automatically.

Hotel, café, school, or airport Wi-Fi keeping your devices apart? Turn on your Android phone's password-protected hotspot and connect your Mac to it. Try Auto Mode again, then use Manual Mode if your Mac still does not appear.

Check the pairing number

Confirm that both devices show the same pairing number. It is a quick check that your phone is connecting to the Mac in front of you before any files move.

Using a cable

Keep your phone charging if you like—Chicklee brings files over through the Android and Mac apps.

Keep the cable connected for charging

A cable is a natural thing to try. It can keep your phone charged while Chicklee copies through the local connection between the Android and Mac apps.

Open Chicklee on both devices

Use Chicklee on Android to choose your files and Chicklee on the Mac to choose where they land. Keep both devices on the same local connection, then confirm the matching pairing number.

If your Mac does not appear, your phone's hotspot and Manual Mode give you another way to connect.

Why the cable is not the transfer path

Android phones do not appear to Mac apps like ordinary USB drives. Chicklee uses its two apps instead, so you can choose on Android and save on Mac.

Local transfer and privacy

Your selected files go directly from your Android phone to your Mac over your local connection.

Direct to your Mac

Your selected files travel from the Android app to the Mac app over the local connection between your devices. Chicklee does not upload them to a Chicklee cloud service.

A quick pairing check

The matching pairing number helps you confirm that your Android phone is connecting to the Mac in front of you before files are copied.

Bring your own connection

Home Wi-Fi works well. Away from home, your Android phone's password-protected hotspot gives Chicklee a local connection you control. Public and guest networks may keep devices apart and are not the best place to copy sensitive files.

You choose what Chicklee can access

Android's file picker lets you choose exactly what to share with Chicklee. Chicklee does not scan the rest of your phone, browse private app data, or ask for broad access to your storage.

Can't see your Mac? Try Manual Mode

Your phone's hotspot and Manual Mode give you a practical way forward when automatic discovery cannot find your Mac.

Start with your own connection

If hotel, café, school, airport, or guest Wi-Fi keeps your devices apart, turn on your Android phone's password-protected hotspot and connect your Mac to it. Then try Auto Mode again.

Still not seeing your Mac?

Choose Manual Mode to enter your Mac's connection address directly. Manual Mode helps when automatic discovery is blocked; your own Wi-Fi or hotspot provides the local connection.

Enter the connection address

On your Mac, choose Manual Mode to show its connection address. On Android, open Manual Mode and enter the address shown on the Mac. Then confirm the matching pairing number.

After switching networks

If your Mac just joined a different Wi-Fi network or your phone's hotspot, Chicklee may still show its earlier connection. Quit and reopen Chicklee on the Mac, then use the fresh address it shows.

If files were already moving

Manual Mode helps your devices find each other before a transfer starts. If a transfer stopped after files began moving, check Finder and the receipt, then follow the interrupted transfer guidance.

Choosing files from a folder

Open a folder in Android's picker and select the files you want to bring over.

Bring over files from a folder

Browse to the folder you want in Android's file picker, then choose one file or select several. Chicklee brings those selected files to your Mac.

About whole-folder copy

Chicklee currently copies selected files rather than a whole folder in one step. Multi-select is the quickest way to bring over several files from the same location.

You stay in control

Android decides which locations appear in its picker, and Chicklee receives access only to the files you select. It does not scan the rest of your device or ask for broad storage access.

Start free and unlock larger batches

Bring over up to 10 files a day for free, with a one-time Mac unlock for larger batches.

Your 10 free files each day

Your Mac counts a file only after it accepts and saves it. You can bring over up to 10 files a day for free.

Bringing over a larger batch

If your selection is larger than today's free amount, Chicklee keeps the whole selection waiting rather than copying only part of it. Continue on the Mac to unlock larger batches with a one-time purchase, or review your selection and choose fewer files.

Anything already copied remains available in Finder and on the receipt.

If a transfer stops

Check Finder and the receipt on your Mac to see what arrived before you try again.

Check what arrived

Your Mac records what actually arrived, what was skipped, and what did not finish. Start with the receipt, then open the destination in Finder.

Ready to try again

Your original files stay on Android. Check the copies on your Mac before removing anything from your phone, then pair again when you are ready.

If the Android app resets, the Mac's receipt still shows what it accepted.

Check what arrived

Finder and Chicklee's receipt show what arrived on your Mac.

Start in Finder

Open the destination folder to see the files your Mac accepted. If a name was already in use, Chicklee keeps both files by giving the new copy a safe, unique name.

Use the receipt for the details

The receipt shows which files copied, which were renamed, and which did not finish. Chicklee only marks a file copied after the Mac receives and saves it.

Where are my files?

Use Finder to see the files Chicklee copied to this Mac.

Open the destination in Finder

Choose Show files in Finder to open the Mac folder you picked. Your copied files are ready for you there.

Open the important ones before removing anything from your phone.

If something is missing

Compare Finder with the receipt. It shows which files copied, which received a new name, and which did not finish, so you know what to try again.

Make room when you're ready

Chicklee leaves your Android originals in place so you can decide what to remove and when.

Check first, then choose

Open the files on your Mac and compare them with Chicklee's receipt. Once you are happy with what arrived, you can choose what to remove from Android yourself. Chicklee never deletes the originals for you.

Need a hand?

Start with Finder and the receipt, then email support@chicklee.app if you would like help.

Start with what arrived

Open the destination in Finder and compare it with the receipt. Anything that copied successfully stays on your Mac, even if you need help with another part of the transfer.
